What Have You Done for the Lord Jesus Christ Lately?
Have you taken time to reflect on what you’ve done for the Lord Jesus Christ in the last few hours or days?
This isn’t about what you’ve done for your family, your job, or even yourself—it’s about your relationship with your Savior. What have you done for Him?
Is God Still a Priority in Your Life?
Too many believers have slowly stopped actively doing anything for God. Some attend church for an hour or two on Sunday and feel they’ve “checked the box” for the week—if something else doesn’t get in the way like sleeping in, a family outing, or a shopping trip.
Prayer, worship, Bible study, and witnessing are often pushed aside. We work hard for our families, chase goals, and enjoy our hobbies—but what about God?
Sadly, for many, He only becomes a priority when sickness, crisis, or death comes knocking.
But for those who are truly children of God, it's time to wake up. It’s time to start living lives that are wholly dedicated to Him. We need to put God first in our everyday decisions, habits, and schedules.
When a Pagan King Gave More to God Than God’s People
In Ezra chapter 7, even the pagan king Artaxerxes gave generously—gold, silver, wine, wheat, salt, and more—so Ezra could worship and serve the God of Israel.
Let that sink in.
When people who don’t even follow God are willing to give more than those who do, it should challenge us to examine our hearts. Are we doing less for our Creator than the world around us?
What Does It Really Mean to Serve God?
The greatest thing we can offer the Lord isn’t material—it’s our time.
We serve God when we:
Spend time in prayer
Worship with sincerity
Give thanks in all things
Share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others
Live a life shaped by faith, forgiveness, grace, and mercy
It’s Time to Take God Seriously
Maybe it’s time to pause the fishing, camping, shopping, and social plans—and return to the One who gave everything for us.
Maybe it’s time to put God and His Church first.
When we do, we may be surprised at how He moves in our lives—how He blesses, heals, guides, and changes things for the better.
Colossians 3:23–24 (NIV)
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
Let this be your reminder: God isn’t just part of your life—He is your life.
So today, ask yourself honestly:
What have you done for the Lord Jesus Christ?
