The Unchanging Truth in a World of Constant Change

Recently, a small startup company changed its name. It’s a simple example, but it reminded me how quickly things around us evolve. Even something as familiar as a favorite road can surprise you if a few days go by between drives—new signs, buildings, or construction projects can appear seemingly overnight.

During a recent visit to a business office I frequent every few months, I noticed that one of the staff members had changed several aspects of her appearance. It was yet another reminder that change is one of life’s only constants.

But in a world that is always shifting—its culture, its values, its structures, its pace, and even its weather—there is one truth that never changes: the importance of Jesus Christ.

His coming, His death, and His resurrection remain the central pillars of hope and salvation. No matter how much the world transforms, this truth stands firm.

Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” That declaration has stood the test of time, and it always will.

May we not only believe this, but fully embrace it as truth in our own lives. In a world of endless change, Jesus Christ remains the same—yesterday, today, and forever.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” -Hebrews 13:8 (NIV)
