The Power of God's Presence: He "Sticks" Around

On February 15, 1842, the first adhesive postage stamp was used in New York City. Since then, the postage stamp has literally been “sticking” around. But there’s something even more incredible about sticking around—it's one of God's greatest attributes.

In Exodus 33:14, God promises, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Moses, who had walked and struggled with God, received the assurance that God would never leave him. Despite all the challenges and trials Moses faced, God’s presence was a constant source of comfort and peace.

God's Presence: A Constant Source of Comfort

When I was a child, I would often pull the covers over my head, thinking that if someone or something dangerous was near, I would be hidden and safe. Over time, I realized that a blanket provides little protection against my fears. What truly brings comfort is the reminder that God’s presence is with me, even in life’s most challenging moments.

But here’s the challenge I often face: remembering God’s presence. When fear takes over and adrenaline starts to rush, I find myself hyper-focused on the problem at hand, and I forget that God is right there with me. I must confess, I’m not always great at letting God be God, especially when my heart rate rises and pressure builds.

That’s why it’s so important for me to intentionally focus on God’s presence. The more I surrender to His divine presence, the more aware I become of it—especially in those moments when stress or fear tries to take over.

Surrendering to God's Presence

As I continue to grow in my relationship with God, I am learning to embrace His presence more fully. The more I surrender to Him, the more His peace and comfort fill my heart, even when life feels overwhelming.

It’s truly a blessing to know that God sticks around, no matter what.
