Time Flies: Are You Making the Most of It?

It started like any other day—until I received a phone call from a childhood friend. We hadn't spoken in a while, but the news was hard to hear: one of our friends had passed away.

It's moments like these that remind you how quickly time passes. One minute, you're racing down old country roads and cruising around town late into the night. The next, you find yourself in your 60s or 70s, wondering where all the years went.

The Wisdom of Psalm 90:12

The Bible offers wisdom that resonates deeply in moments like this. Psalm 90:12 says, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” This verse encourages us to be mindful of our time, but it also challenges us to consider how we use our time. Are we merely drifting through life, or are we making the most of each day?

Using Your Time Wisely

The apostle Paul serves as a powerful example of someone who made every day count. Whether teaching, preaching, debating, or even writing letters while in prison, Paul was committed to serving God and encouraging others. His life reminds us that even in difficult circumstances, we can choose to use our time to make a positive impact.

How Are You Spending Your Time?

Take a moment to reflect on your own life. Are you spending time with the people you love? Are you serving God in your everyday activities? Are you making a difference that will outlast your lifetime? Life is never easy, but it offers each of us the opportunity to use our time wisely—or to let it slip away.

The question remains: What are you doing with your time?
