Finding Peace Through Mid-Week Prayer and Bible Study

I often get tired of taking the dog out, especially when I’m busy, it's cold, or when I'm simply feeling exhausted. However, I have to admit that after a long day at work, that short walk outside was surprisingly refreshing. It helped me shift my focus from the demands of work to the peaceful, quiet evening I had waiting for me at home.

That little walk reminded me of the importance of mid-week Bible study or prayer time. It’s so easy to get caught up in one direction, making it difficult to shift gears and focus on other areas of life. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that one of the most valuable things we need is a weekly re-focus. For Christians, participating in a prayer group or a book study group could be one of the best ways to strengthen our relationship with God and enhance our spiritual effectiveness.

I hadn’t given this much thought before, but it’s truly a blessing to take a pause in the middle of the week and re-focus. For this, I am thankful.

How long has it been since you were committed to a prayer group or meeting with a prayer partner? Isn’t it fascinating how many people dedicate time to working out or spending time with friends and family, but struggle to find time to re-focus on God?

Sometimes, it’s just as simple as walking the dog...again!

Psalm 46:10 (NIV):
"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
