From Procrastination to Action: The Power of God's Timing
Yesterday, my friend had a job interview scheduled for 10 a.m., but due to the weather, it was postponed until today. I could have simply said the interview was rescheduled, but instead, I found myself reflecting on how often I put things off until later—or even until tomorrow. While procrastination isn’t something I typically struggle with, I admit I have my moments.
I have friends who are experts at waiting until the last possible minute to tackle tasks they know need to be done. It’s a habit that can lead to unnecessary stress and missed opportunities.
Of course, Jesus was never a procrastinator. He was on a specific mission—Calvary. His sacrifice on the cross had to happen at the perfect time, the fullness of time, as described in Scripture. God’s timing is always precise, and Jesus followed it to the letter.
As Christians, we are called to avoid procrastination, especially when it comes to fulfilling God's will. There is rarely a good reason to delay what we know we should do, and as my mother always said, “You never know when you’ll get caught at the last minute!”
In Ecclesiastes 3, we are reminded that there is a time for everything under heaven. Timing matters. It’s something God can guide us in, and when He speaks, we should act without hesitation. When God tells us to move, we shouldn’t delay. We need to shake, rattle, and roll into action! My goal is to be so in tune with God's will that when He says, “Hop,” I’m already halfway in the air. God’s timing is perfect, and everything He calls us to do is part of a bigger plan with a divine purpose.
