The Importance of Staying Connected to Christ: A Lesson from the Grand Ole Opry

While attending the world-famous Grand Ole Opry the other night, we sat just above and behind the person who was watching and controlling the sound system. He had several computers, screens, and displays to monitor. From time to time, he made small adjustments, but everything continued smoothly during the show without a glitch. The sound was perfect, which, in turn, enhanced the entire experience. The key to this flawless performance was having all the necessary equipment connected and properly set up.

As individuals, we also need to be properly connected to the Lord Jesus Christ. However, staying connected isn’t always easy, especially if we aren’t consistently monitoring and nurturing our relationship with Him. Just like an unconnected wire or a short circuit could cause problems at the Opry, a disconnected relationship with Christ can lead to spiritual struggles, delays, or even spiritual disconnection.

That’s why daily devotions are essential. Even if we only spend a few minutes focused on Christ, His Word, and communicating with Him, it helps us stay spiritually connected.

In Micah 6:8, it is written: "He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." Just a little time with Jesus can make a huge difference in how we live and stay connected to Him.
